Michael F. ARMS LENGTH are the perfect poster child for how to do this whole new pop-punk movement over the past 10 years or so. Impeccably delivered, catchy and passionate without whiny over-exaggeration. Guitar nuances, great drumming and thumping bass behind a melding of crisp vocals. First reference that came to mind was FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND's track "Streetcar", if I were to use a reference point. But ARMS LENGTH doesn't really need it; they've got this thing covered. Top shelf release.

Thread 02:50
Strike the feeling of this temper down The sky won’t fall without the clouds I tighten my throat to make the words come out the right way Fuck the way my feet react They rise and fall to break my back again I’m a tourist in this life of mine Frayed like all the bits left to unwind I’m a tourist in this life of mine Unravel at the seams with me Company’s best when in defeat It seems we end up tired in the end Safe to say we’ve seen it all But I’ve been told the error’s not to fall from no height. I’m a tourist in this life of mine Frayed like all the bits left to unwind. I’m a tourist in this life of mine Bask in this new place It’s lukewarm water Sick southern new face Sheep led to slaughter And that’s fine by me

Seeing Spots 03:09
You stared into the sun for hours It didn't leave you seeing spots
But if I were burning in this sky you'd say "You're much too bright for me to face”
You've always been too bright for me to face

Adjust your eyes, It's best you spent some time in the dark
You're nothing better than a wondering cloud
You've been blanketing my head Blanketing my head
You've been blanketing my head Blanketing, blanketing

Don't ask me if I miss it
You described into existence
All the states in between
All the distance I can’t see
You're sentence left unfinished

Keep speaking to me from somewhere up above
You've been blanketing my head
I'll be waiting for a southern wind
Forcing all your clouds to part

Cellar Door 02:32
Don’t believe the news cause’ I can’t make heads or tails Of the headlines Forget after the countdown When the world crawled out that day And we stopped it on its axis If memory still serves me I’ll relieve him of his duties The past it echoes But it never speaks

Salem 04:16
Save your words They're not the ones I need tonight
My head's closed off ‘till then But I still can't seem to think right

Make your plans But make them far from home
Cause’ I can't bear to see you alone

Did you quake when the plane first hit the thin air?
The winters seem much colder when you show your face around here
So I spent the summer writing songs you never once heard
At least I'm fucking honest, if it's the one thing I'm worth

Make your plans, but make them far from home
Cause I can't bear to part this town
And I can't seem to break you

Five years that I'll never erase
I'm looking forward to the moment that you’re taken away
Your time's over and the clocks run out
Hope you find someone who breaks your head down

Five years that I'll never erase
(Make your plans)
I'm looking forward to the moment that you take it away
(Far from home)
Your times over and the clocks run out
Hope you find someone who makes you feel like me

I remember I was just a kid
When I first felt the sun on my own skin
I pulled it over my face And realized I was never gonna fit

Intent 03:16
Flushed and framed I never thought that we would see the same But your contrast changed My filter fades As I rearrange my words in useless ways Cause’ it’s all the same I spent my spare time hiding talking calls from home Telling the only people that might care to know Fighting sleep and sickness till’ the mud turned stone Lost in tense and presence till’ my nerves would show But I still feel it I’ll fight the shapes inside my sleep Following paths in my hindsight Where intent and end can meet But I still feel it Within the burns that mark my chest Longing a place in my head Where intent and end can rest Flushed and framed I never wanted there a judgment made But it left me flayed My thoughts decay As I find my solace in an endless maze Cause’ it’s all the same But I still feel it I’ll fight the shapes inside my sleep Following paths in my hindsight Where intent and end can meet But I still feel it Within the burns that mark my chest Longing a place in my head Where intent and end can rest Take the words you need to write me off The way you want the world to hear Wash your hands of all of what you are And leave me with this depth to bear I saw you leaving and I’m not okay
